Fagytûrõ, évelõ fûszernövény. Hegyvidéki nedves réteken nõ. A skandináv országokban kettekbe ültetik. Illata ánizsra emlékeztetõ. Hideg hatására csírázik, tõosztással is szaporítható. Nedves, tápanygdús földet igényel. Zöldjét folyamatosan szedhetjük, fõleg a fiatalabb. zsenge leveleit, hajtásait.

Felhasználás: szószokba, levesekbe. Serkentõleg hat az emésztésre, enyhe hashajtó hatása is van. Csillapítja a köhögést.
