East Indian lemon grass oil is distilled from C. flexuosus. It consists of alcohols (20 to 30% cotronellol, geranoil) and aldehydes (15% geranial, 10% neral, 5% citronellal). This species is dominantly used in the perfume industry as it contains less myrcene and, therefore, has a longer shelf life.
